Chef Prasad, at 62 Main St., was cited on Tuesday, April 9, after health inspectors from the New Canaan Health Department found Raid and isopropyl alcohol improperly stored, which is considered a "risk factor," according to the New Canaanite.
According to the report, the items were found stored on shelf above a dishwashing area and near food container storage, the paper said.
The restaurant was also cited for the minor violations of an unclean hand washing sink, reach-in refrigerator, and a shelving unit. Dishes were also found stored on the floor, the New Canaanite reported.
The owner, Prasad Chirnomula, told NewCanaanite.com that he serves great food with great service and appreciates the routine checks by the health department.
The re-inspection is scheduled to take place before April 22, the report said.
